Basically, DFI is a course that offers you a strong combination of business and infocomm skills. Every DFI students will definitely be well equipped with both IT skill and Business knowledge (Accounting or Finance) which will be of high demand for in the future.
As a year one DFI student, I feel that what I had learnt in year one is significant to my future job prospect, especially, the IT skills that I have gained. Moreover, I also understand that IT skill is something that cannot be deficient in. Other than IT skills and Business knowledge, we also have modules like Creative Thinking Skill and IDEAS to build greater language awareness. This will unquestionably benefit us.

"Diploma in Financial Informatics (DFI) is a new course that offers a strong combination of business and infocomm skills.
In the first year, I learned Business Statistics and Business Analysis Using Excel which teaches me the science of collecting, organizing, presenting, analyzing, and interpreting data to assist in making more effective decisions.
Fundamentals of Marketing makes me realized that marketing is everywhere in our daily life, we get to see it but without knowing it. I have learned about the importance of planning a marketing plan well without having to risk a business. Fundamentals of Economics create my awareness of what is happening around the world economy. For example, what causes inflation and what causes recession to happen.
I am well equipped with the skills in business accounting using the Realtimme software through Principles of Accounting module. I am able to prepare yearend financial statements and account for errors, correcting them accordingly and many accounting skills.
Last but not least, the course comes with Critical Reasoning Skills module which teaches me to think critically for solutions to a problem. In addition, Innovation Design & Enterprise in Action (IDEAS) module enables us to create something creatively which are relevant for our future job as our boss might want us to come up with new products to attract the customers.
This is only my first year in this course, and I am already being exposed to all these skills that will be of help for my future. Therefore, without any hesitation, I think that DFI is a great course that anyone should not miss it since it is of high demand in the business world. "
